Phoenix, AZ– Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel has spent the past 11 months implementing significant transparency and accountability reforms. Since day one of taking office, Allister outlined an aggressive plan to help restore confidence in the criminal justice system.

In less than a year, Allister has taken bold steps to increase transparency & accountability:
- Public records process improvements by eliminating the backlog and reformed the process to reduce response time for records
- Creation of a public-facing dashboard with data about cases submitted to MCAO by law enforcement, cases filed, diverted and dismissed by MCAO, and demographic information
- Lifted previous directive to law enforcement to not release body-worn camera footage
- Added community members to the Critical Incident Review Committee
- Established Community and Business Advisory Boards to receive input from the community on important issues
